Description

Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server databases for enterprise healthcare applications.
Create and optimize schemas, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Develop scalable data models for patient, provider, care management, clinical, and operational workflows.
Analyze and resolve database performance bottlenecks and optimize T-SQL queries and stored procedures.
Design indexing and execution-plan strategies to improve application response times and support SLAs.
Assess database scalability needs and implement partitioning, archiving, caching, and lifecycle strategies.
Collaborate with technical architects, application teams, API teams, and integration teams on database solutions.
Support healthcare interoperability initiatives, including FHIR-based data structures and ETL processes.
Design reporting databases, operational data stores, SQL reporting solutions, and data extracts.
Implement database security controls, access management, encryption, and compliance with HIPAA and data privacy requirements.

Requirements

8+ years of SQL Server development experience.
5+ years of experience working on enterprise-scale applications.
Experience supporting systems with high transaction volumes and large datasets.
Proven experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
Experience working closely with application development teams.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
Strong T-SQL programming experience with stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions.
Experience with query optimization, index tuning, execution plan analysis, locking and blocking analysis, and deadlock resolution.
Experience with database performance monitoring, partitioning, capacity planning, and high availability/disaster recovery.
Experience with SSIS, ETL development, REST API data integrations, data migration strategies, CI/CD for database deployments, SSRS, Power BI, operational reporting, and data warehousing concepts.
Preferred: healthcare industry experience.
Preferred: knowledge of HL7 and FHIR standards.
Preferred: experience with EHR/EMR platforms.
Preferred: expertise in Azure SQL and cloud database architectures.
Preferred: experience supporting care management, population health, or patient engagement platforms.
Preferred: familiarity with Azure Data Factory and modern data platform technologies.
