Description

  • Produce high-quality promotional content that is scientifically robust, strategically aligned, and brand consistent.
  • Develop and refine copy for promotional campaigns, brand narratives, detail aids, leave pieces, emails, congress materials, claims support materials, and digital tools.
  • Apply the ABPI Code of Practice to ensure all promotional materials meet compliance requirements.
  • Interpret complex scientific data and translate it into clear, credible promotional messages.
  • Conduct targeted literature searches to support brand messaging, claims, and promotional narratives.
  • Develop multiple rounds of content with annotations, references, claims support, and compliant substantiation.
  • Incorporate internal and client feedback to deliver final assets that can move forward with confidence.
  • Collaborate with account, editorial, creative, digital, and client services teams to deliver work on time and within budgeted hours.
  • Lead scientific discussions with clients and external experts, including during MLR review sessions.
  • Provide mentorship and first-pass review support for junior writers and contribute to process improvements and business development activities.

Requirements

  • PhD in a scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of medical writing experience, ideally in a medical communications agency.
  • Strong emphasis on pharmaceutical promotional materials experience.
  • Demonstrable expertise in developing promotional assets such as brand campaigns, detail aids, leave pieces, emails, digital content, and congress materials.
  • In-depth understanding and practical application of the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and reference-management tools such as EndNote.
  • Experience using literature databases such as PubMed.
  • Ability to quickly master new therapeutic areas and communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Consistent and effective use of internal communication tools such as Teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and live events.
