Description

  • Serve as the primary client lead upon proposal acceptance and maintain/manage business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Develop client-facing materials including agendas and slide presentations and lead or support client calls with LMR, faculty, and content experts.
  • Prepare and forward status/contact reports to clients after each client interaction and develop project briefs and scopes of work for clients and internal teams.
  • Provide direction to support teams on all aspects of project management and ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Manage projects using internal project briefs, proposal templates, budget tools, and collaborate on overall project plans, objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Function as internal team leader to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration and mentor Associate/Senior Account-level personnel, including conducting performance reviews and setting development plans.
  • Identify market opportunities and organic growth within assigned accounts and work with Client Services leadership and Strategy for business development.
  • Develop proposals, budgets, and reconciliations; capture team hours across departments; monitor budgets (direct costs, labor, fees, out-of-pocket expenses) and provide budget status updates to clients.
  • Ensure adherence to PhRMA, FDA, OIG, and ACCME guidelines, enforce quality control of client materials, attend internal stakeholder meetings, and contribute tactical planning ideas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years in an Account role within a pharmaceutical or medical communications company.
  • Daily client-facing experience and experience with medical, legal, and regulatory review processes (required).
  • Proven experience developing proposals, budgets, and reconciliations and monitoring project budgets and hours.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising account team members and conducting performance reviews and development planning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel 10–15% depending on client needs (in Chicago, travel currently limited to suburban area).
  • Familiarity with and commitment to complying with PhRMA, FDA, OIG, and ACCME guidelines and agency procedures.
  • Competencies including leadership, results-orientation, attention to detail, customer focus, flexibility, forward thinking, and relationship building.
