Description

  • Develop, mentor, manage, and coach SSU personnel to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure SSU staff comply with SOPs, working guidelines, project plans, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide resources, training, materials, and system access needed for SSU staff to succeed.
  • Contribute to training plans and hold staff accountable for meeting training goals.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new SSU personnel.
  • Support resource planning and FTE allocation across projects to align with budgets and assumptions.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and annual performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Lead or participate in department meetings and internal initiatives.
  • Serve as subject matter support for site start-up activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of clinical research experience, including extensive site start-up experience.
  • Line management experience is essential.
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated leadership competencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines and the clinical development process.
  • Experience managing people and working in a team environment with resource management responsibility.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and clinical systems such as CTMS, eTMF, and EDC.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Advanced degree in life sciences or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a CRO environment is preferred.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
