Description

  • Design, implement, and operate control system infrastructure for utility-scale energy storage systems.
  • Program PPC, HMI, and RTU systems and maintain related technical documentation.
  • Support day-to-day plant automation activities to maintain network reliability, availability, and serviceability.
  • Provide technical support for complex work orders, tickets, and operational technology or control system issues.
  • Oversee network technology upgrades and expansion projects, including hardware and software installation and integration testing.
  • Participate in field construction and plant commissioning activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for control and instrumentation systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external EPC vendors during project bidding and execution phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; electrical engineering degree is preferred.
  • 6+ years of related industry experience is required; renewable energy industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of battery energy storage system use cases such as primary frequency response (PFR), fast frequency response (FFR), and black start is highly preferred.
  • Experience designing and maintaining plant control systems using industry-standard SCADA and PLC platforms.
  • Understanding of data logging requirements and historian platforms.
  • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
  • Experience with Schneider Electric Modicon PLCs, SEL RTACs, and Novatech Orions.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols including DNP3.0, Modbus, OPC-UA, and MQTT.
  • Programming experience in Python, IEC 61131-3, C, C++, or C#.
  • Ability to write technical specifications for process or manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of cyber-security best practices, including IT/OT standards.
  • Knowledge of NERC/CIP/NIST procedures.
  • Ability to explain complex technical analysis to management and external parties in a simplified way.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with technical and non-technical members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
