Description

  • Define and design Pinterest’s data warehouse architecture, storage, governance, and usage.
  • Set the strategic direction for analytics tools including experimentation platforms, ad hoc analysis systems, data visualization, data pipeline authoring, and AI-assisted analytics capabilities.
  • Define, design, and drive adoption of data governance policies and tooling to improve data quality, responsible handling, and efficiency.
  • Lead ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives across the data ecosystem while balancing usability, efficiency, and compliance trade-offs.
  • Drive adoption and business impact across the product portfolio through platform and tooling initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through leadership on technical design, execution strategy, and trade-off decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering stakeholders to understand user needs, align on priorities, and drive progress.
  • Help build the foundation for next-generation AI analytics products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience with large-scale data warehouses, data tools, and platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience building data warehouses and tools in the data ecosystem.
  • Experience with technologies such as Spark, Trino, Flink, Airflow, Querybook, Superset, and DataHub.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional partners across multiple organizations.
  • Hands-on experience building tools and data pipelines using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex.
  • Hands-on experience building AI tools and platforms to accelerate data pipeline authoring, data analytics, and engineering productivity.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
  • Ability to work in-office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times per quarter.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $208,592 to $429,454 USD.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Remote-eligible role based anywhere in the country.
