Description

  • Set technical strategy and vision for ML systems that improve the end-to-end content ecosystem across supply, distribution, and engagement outcomes.
  • Partner with data science teams to define measurement frameworks for content health and performance, aligned to business goals.
  • Build models and insights to identify content gaps and explain what content is missing, for whom, in which contexts, and why.
  • Use causal thinking, experimentation, and model interpretability to understand what content works and how it affects downstream outcomes.
  • Design and optimize content marketplace mechanisms that balance incentives and constraints across users, creators, advertisers, and safety requirements.
  • Develop multi-objective optimization approaches that trade off relevance, quality, diversity, creator incentives, integrity, and monetization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, UX Research, Creator teams, Trust & Safety, Ads, and Infra to turn ambiguous problems into technical roadmaps.
  • Mentor and develop junior ML engineers through coaching, design reviews, and career development support.
  • Raise ML engineering standards through best practices for data quality, model governance, reliability, privacy-aware design, and operational excellence.
  • Communicate technical proposals clearly and influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries to drive decisions and measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals in machine learning and optimization applied to large-scale ecosystem problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical strategy, navigate ambiguity, and deliver end-to-end impact.
  • Deep interest in marketplace dynamics, multi-sided incentives, feedback loops, and long-term health metrics.
  • Experience with Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants for development, debugging, testing, and refactoring.
  • Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and workflow acceleration.
  • Background in game theory, reinforcement learning, mechanism design, or causal inference applied to ecosystems or marketplaces is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a role with no relocation assistance.
  • Ability to travel to the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6 months.
  • US-based applicants only for the posted salary range.

  • Base salary range of $227,871 to $469,147 USD for US-based applicants.
