Description

  • Build alerts and automation workflows to improve detection and response to external and internal security threats.
  • Manage logging pipelines and infrastructure and onboard new log sources to expand detection coverage.
  • Develop and maintain internal tooling to automate and extend detection and response capabilities.
  • Respond to alerts from internal tooling and participate in an on-call incident response rotation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on security efforts and investigations.
  • Hunt for previously undetected threats across the environment.
  • Leverage AI to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and coverage of security engineering work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of intrusion detection and incident response with an engineering focus in a modern cloud-first environment.
  • Knowledge of the attacker lifecycle and common attack and detection techniques.
  • Hands-on experience writing SIEM queries for alerting, response, and threat hunting.
  • Experience consuming threat intelligence and applying it to improve detection capabilities.
  • Familiarity with multiple telemetry sources for threat investigations, such as EDR, Osquery, and firewall logs.
  • Understanding of networking technologies or network security, including basic TCP/IP fundamentals.
  • Depth in MacOS internals, or alternatively Linux/UNIX or Windows internals, including persistence mechanisms and privilege escalation techniques.
  • Scripting or automation experience with languages such as Python, Go, or Ruby for tool development or integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day work for relevant outputs.
  • Strong track record of critically evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work through testing, source-checking, data validation, or peer review.
  • High integrity and ownership, including protecting sensitive data, avoiding over-reliance on AI, and staying accountable for final decisions and deliverables.
  • This role requires in-office collaboration 1-2 times every 6 months and can be based anywhere in the U.S.
  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $123,696 to $254,667 USD for U.S.-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity in addition to base salary.
  • Flexible PinFlex working model with very limited in-office collaboration requirements.
  • Country-wide U.S. remote work eligibility for this role.
