Description

  • Lead and grow a cross-functional engineering team working on user-facing product areas and supporting systems.
  • Set clear goals and drive execution against a roadmap aligned with product and business priorities.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Research, and Data Science to shape strategy, prioritize opportunities, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Create a strong team environment with clear expectations, healthy operating rhythms, high standards, and psychological safety.
  • Coach and develop engineers across multiple levels to expand their scope, impact, and career growth.
  • Support technical and architectural decision-making to ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems.
  • Use data, experimentation, and user insight to guide product and engineering decisions.
  • Use AI to accelerate analysis, research, drafting, synthesis, and iteration while verifying quality and correctness.

Requirements

  • Experience leading engineering teams that build and ship consumer-facing products.
  • Experience managing engineers across multiple levels and improving team effectiveness, quality, and impact.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and team development.
  • Strong product sense and strategic thinking with the ability to translate broad goals into execution plans.
  • Solid technical foundation with ability to participate in architecture, design reviews, and technical trade-offs.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, align cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver meaningful results.
  • Expertise using data and experimentation to inform product and engineering decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day work.
  • Strong track record of critically evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work through testing, review, or other quality controls.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing teams of 5+ engineers.
  • Prefer candidates located in the SF Bay Area or PST timezone.
  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $208,454 to $364,795 USD for US-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
