Description

  • Support the design of tailored data governance programs, including processes, team structures, decision rights, and boundaries.
  • Design governance policies and controls and support their practical rollout.
  • Communicate governance concepts through presentations, training materials, documentation, and adoption guides.
  • Facilitate governance working groups and align business and technical stakeholders.
  • Execute metadata management activities, including cataloging, lineage capture, glossaries, and stewardship workflows.
  • Define and maintain business rules, data definitions, and data quality controls with business teams.
  • Apply data profiling, monitoring, and issue-management processes.
  • Install, configure, and roll out governance and metadata tools such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, and Purview.
  • Build and curate metadata catalogs and tailor tool workflows, dashboards, search, and user experiences.
  • Coach client staff on data stewardship and collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business owners to embed governance into daily workflows.
  • Provide input on access controls, privacy, and regulatory compliance, including GDPR and CCPA.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, and MDM roles.
  • Hands-on experience with MDM tools such as Semarchy, Profisee, Informatica, or equivalent.
  • Exposure to data quality tools and processes such as Talend, Ataccama, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills, including workshop facilitation, business writing, and presentations for mixed audiences.
  • Ability to define and gain alignment on business definitions, rules, and data quality controls.
  • Familiarity with governance operating models and stewardship practices.
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% per month when required by clients.
  • Experience with governance working groups, data access provisioning, integration patterns, lineage capture, adoption materials, or client-facing consulting is preferred.
