Description

  • Lead and manage a team of Machine Learning Engineers and Data Engineers (currently ~5), including hiring, mentoring and performance management.
  • Contribute technically to the design and implementation of ML solutions across the full lifecycle: training, tuning, deployment, inference, experimentation and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to define high-impact, user-focused ML projects and prioritize the team roadmap.
  • Work closely with data engineers and software engineers to build and deploy end-to-end, production-ready ML systems and improve the ML platform and ecosystem.
  • Establish and promote team culture, processes and best practices alongside other managers to enable delivery and team motivation.
  • Own team roadmap items autonomously and be accountable for delivery and cross-team initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of tools, processes and monitoring to ensure model reliability and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing and growing teams of ML engineers and/or data engineers.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating production machine learning systems across the ML lifecycle (training, tuning, deployment, inference, experimentation, monitoring).
  • Familiarity with the technical stack and infrastructure patterns used at Pennylane (AWS, Terraform, streaming and batch processing, scheduling, data warehousing).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Tech and cross-functional stakeholders and prioritize business-led actions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment and driving initiatives with autonomy.
  • Fluent English (level assessed according to department requirements).
  • Authorized to work remotely from a European country within a maximum time difference of two hours from CET.
