Description

  • Own engineering scope for multi-site, complex outside plant builds across fiber and copper aerial and underground systems.
  • Produce and, where applicable, seal engineering plans, splicing diagrams, loss budgets, BOMs, and construction work prints.
  • Perform advanced loop-loss analysis, electronics sizing, and network segmentation planning.
  • Lead constructability reviews, value engineering, and route optimization to resolve conflicts and improve buildability.
  • Conduct field surveys and validate pole, conduit, and buried-facility measurements, including NESC clearance and make-ready needs.
  • Ensure compliance with NESC, client specifications, and Pearce standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee permit packages and coordinate ROW and easement approvals with municipalities, counties, and state agencies.
  • Lead joint-use engineering and coordinate with utilities on pole attachments, loading, and make-ready work.
  • Build budgets, track actuals and variances, and recommend cost and schedule mitigations.
  • Maintain authoritative project records, prepare status reports and dashboards, and coordinate closely with PMs, construction, permitting, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-discipline OSP engineering projects from design through closeout.
  • Expert knowledge of work order engineering, including road moves, loss budgets, splicing plans, constructability, and value engineering.
  • Hands-on field measurement experience with strong working knowledge of NESC and OSP standards.
  • Track record obtaining permits, ROW/easements, and leading pole attachment, loading, and make-ready coordination.
  • Experience building and tracking job budgets, performing QA/QC, and conducting site inspections.
  • Proficiency with PC applications and record/CAD systems.
  • Ability to use field tools such as a measuring wheel, height stick, pull finder, and laptop.
  • Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams and vendors, preferred.
  • Familiarity with drafting, markup, documentation tools, and client portals, preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical constraints into clear stakeholder decisions, preferred.
