Description

  • Maintain generators by diagnosing problems, repairing faults, and replacing components or complete systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and performance checks to keep generators ready for service.
  • Read and follow blueprints and design specifications to install or repair equipment.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and other generator components.
  • Test installed or repaired equipment to verify proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to generator and power alarms, including 24/7 on-call coverage when assigned.
  • Follow safety procedures and attend required safety and training meetings.
  • Work with awareness of hazards related to power supply equipment, switching gear, and other site equipment.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of intensive work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and prolonged standing.
  • Willingness to drive long distances and work daytime, evening, or night hours, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts.
  • Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and travel away from home for extended periods.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
