Description

  • Maintain, diagnose, repair, and upgrade commercial generators and related systems.
  • Install and replace generator components or complete systems as needed.
  • Perform performance checks and routine maintenance to keep generators ready for service.
  • Read and follow blueprints or design specifications for installations and repairs.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and other components.
  • Test equipment and generator systems to confirm proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and handle assigned calls and emails in a timely manner.
  • Remain available for 24/7 on-call duty when required and travel to job sites as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in required safety and training meetings.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Willingness to drive long distances and work day, evening, night, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, holidays, and extended on-call assignments.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
