Description

  • Maintain generators by diagnosing issues, repairing problems, and replacing components or entire systems.
  • Perform additional maintenance and upgrades on out-of-season equipment.
  • Conduct performance checks and routine maintenance to keep generators ready for use.
  • Read and follow blueprints or other design specifications for installation and repair work.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and related components.
  • Test installed and repaired systems to confirm proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and handle assigned phone and email communications.
  • Remain available for 24/7 on-call work when needed and travel to job sites as required.
  • Work safely around power supply equipment, switching gear, and other hazards while using proper safety practices and attending safety and training meetings.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly.
  • Willingness to drive long distances, work days, evenings, nights, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays, and be away from home for extended periods.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
