Description

  • Inspect, diagnose, document, and photograph internal and external composite blade damage.
  • Perform coating and structural repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles, and other composite components.
  • Modify and repair fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin, and other composite materials.
  • Work with site leadership to complete daily customer contractual obligations and repair activities.
  • Maintain required company and client documentation using computer-based service reporting tools.
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist with service and repair of other wind turbine components and related balance-of-plant equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with composite materials in any industry.
  • Familiarity with internal and external adhesive bonding.
  • Understanding of mix ratios for composite repair chemicals.
  • Basic knowledge of repairing leading edge and trailing edge cracks.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, including inside a wind turbine blade.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently; interpreter services are not available.
  • Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
  • Ability to maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing more than 50 pounds.
