Description

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on Vestas wind turbines.
  • Calibrate and adjust turbine components to improve performance.
  • Perform maintenance and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions on turbine equipment.
  • Troubleshoot wind turbine generators and control systems.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions to complete assembly, repair, and maintenance work.
  • Complete and maintain company and client documentation, service reports, work orders, and records.
  • Operate a motor vehicle safely and in compliance with company and insurance requirements.
  • Clean and organize tools, equipment, and the work area.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of related wind or wind troubleshooting experience.
  • Certified on all Vestas platforms.
  • Vestas training required.
  • Vestas LOTO certification required.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Tower Rescue, Tractel, and SRK 11 certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English; interpreter services are not available.
  • Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
  • Ability to maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing more than 50 pounds.
