Description

  • Maintain and improve AWS environments using infrastructure-as-code, including VPCs, IAM policies, secrets management, logging, backups, and cost controls.
  • Write frontend and backend production code for shared platform services and internal tooling.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and automate testing, container builds, releases, and operational workflows.
  • Support Docker-based deployment workflows, including build processes, deployment strategies, and autoscaling.
  • Implement and maintain observability systems, including metrics, centralized logging, alerting, and dashboards.
  • Participate in incident response under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Build and maintain internal documentation, service templates, and local development tooling.
  • Work directly with nonprofit partners to support adoption of PJMF tools and incorporate partner feedback into the product cycle.
  • Participate in stretch assignments and special projects aligned with broader strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a DevOps, infrastructure, or full-stack engineering role.
  • Working proficiency in Python or Go is strongly preferred.
  • Experience contributing to production codebases is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience deploying or supporting production systems on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling such as GitHub Actions, along with GitHub and Jira.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL is required.
  • Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform is expected.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, virtual, fast-moving team and communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship is available.
  • Exposure to monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response or on-call rotations is valued.
  • Basic understanding of networking, system reliability, and security fundamentals is valued.
  • Interest in learning infrastructure security practices and cloud cost/sustainability monitoring is valued.

  • Starting salary range of $70,000 to $106,000 annually.
