Description

  • Oversee accounting for inventory and production processes across cultivation, extraction, processing, and manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain efficient month-end close procedures for inventory and cost accounting.
  • Ensure cultivation and manufacturing policies and procedures comply with US GAAP and internal control requirements.
  • Analyze new product launches, department costing, and cost allocations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain BOM review processes and update costing changes related to raw materials.
  • Support FP&A in building performance benchmarks, scorecards, and forecasts.
  • Assist with annual budgets, rolling budgets, and forecasting processes.
  • Combine multiple data sources to build custom analyses and proactively track product trends.
  • Work with other departments to improve costing infrastructure and transition to a standard costing model.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial results and reports, including variance analysis and reporting for leadership, Board, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive cycle counts, periodic physical inventory audits, and support year-end inventory counts with external auditors.
  • Work directly with external auditors and assist with annual audits, capital investment analysis, contract negotiations, and pricing decisions.
  • Prepare financial materials for executive leadership and produce reports on trends, variances, profitability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA or CMA designation.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on operational accounting experience; controller or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience in a dynamic role with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong financial modeling and business analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to identify key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
