Description

  • Manage and expand Packt’s portfolio of tech-focused live events, aligning programming with category strategy, practitioner needs, and emerging trends across software, data, AI, cloud, and DevOps.
  • Define the vision and format for individual technical sessions and workshops, balancing expert strengths, practitioner expectations, and Packt’s strategic priorities.
  • Identify new technical themes, formats, and engagement opportunities to keep live events relevant and ahead of market demand.
  • Commission and prioritize events and sessions to optimize technical credibility and long-term audience impact.
  • Identify, secure, negotiate terms with, and onboard high-profile technologists (engineers, architects, CTOs, researchers, maintainers, and open-source contributors).
  • Serve as the primary counterpart for technical speakers, clarifying scope, technical depth, audience expectations, and ongoing support for repeat participation.
  • Ensure speakers have the platforms, tools, and support needed for impactful workshops, demos, AMAs, and conference-style sessions.
  • Engage with developer and technology ecosystems (e.g., GitHub, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Discord, YouTube) and collaborate with influencers, maintainers, and community leaders to drive visibility and amplification.
  • Act as product owner for the events portfolio by translating market and practitioner insights into event strategy and collaborating with marketing, design, and operations.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to attract, negotiate with, and onboard high-profile technical speakers and experts.
  • Experience managing or owning technical events, programs, or community-led learning initiatives with a program/product mindset.
  • Strong familiarity with developer ecosystems and engagement channels such as GitHub, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Discord, and YouTube tech communities.
  • Demonstrable relationship-building skills and experience partnering with engineers, architects, maintainers, and community leaders.
  • Ability to define event vision, manage an event pipeline, prioritize effectively, and align programs with organizational goals.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, design, and operations to deliver events.
  • Audience and market acumen for practitioner-focused technical content and the ability to translate industry intelligence into event strategies.
  • Comfort working in a remote-first environment, typically coordinated with teams based in India and the UK.
  • Familiarity with technical domains such as software, data, AI, cloud, and DevOps (preferred).
  • Metrics-driven mindset with experience measuring attendance, engagement, speaker satisfaction, and brand impact (preferred).

  • Monthly gross salary range: INR 60,000–200,000 fixed per month (depending on experience and skills).
