Description

  • Serve as the primary architect and leader for data governance initiatives across the program.
  • Design, implement, and operationalize data governance programs covering data quality, stewardship, lineage, access control, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, business stakeholders, and customer teams to translate operational requirements into governance solutions.
  • Set and enforce governance standards across internal and customer participants to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance.
  • Create and maintain governance artifacts such as data dictionaries, stewardship models, KPI glossaries, and RACI matrices.
  • Support handover and long-term sustainability by enabling clients to maintain and evolve their data assets independently.
  • Participate in project reviews, provide constructive feedback, and raise risks or inefficiencies when identified.
  • Mentor and guide team members on governance best practices and contribute to a collaborative learning culture.
  • Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and training to drive adoption of governance processes among stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing in Databricks, with relevant certifications.
  • Proven ability to build, optimize, and troubleshoot production-grade ETL pipelines.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate operational requirements into governance deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects forward in ambiguous or evolving contexts.
  • Experience leading governance efforts, setting standards for teams, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Expertise in developing governance documentation and frameworks, including data quality policies, stewardship models, and KPI definitions.
  • Ability to provide insights, challenge assumptions, and advocate for best practices.
  • Experience with Databricks Unity Catalogue or similar data governance tools is a strong plus, but not required.
  • Proactive, constructive communication skills with confidence to provide feedback and push back when needed.
