Description

  • Own the end-to-end US month-end close, including governance, cross-functional coordination, and executive reporting.
  • Apply strong accounting judgment to accrual methodologies, estimates, and high-risk journal entries.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, FX translation, intercompany eliminations, and variance analysis.
  • Drive the accounting transformation roadmap by designing scalable workflows and increasing automation.
  • Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and lead audit and SOX readiness efforts.
  • Partner with Technical Accounting to interpret and implement accounting policies and guidance.
  • Work with FP&A to ensure accuracy in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Mentor, develop, and scale a high-performing accounting team.
  • Provide meaningful narratives and insights around monthly financial results.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in general accounting or controllership.
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP, close processes, and financial reporting.
  • Experience owning or leading month-end close in a complex, high-growth public-company environment.
  • Experience managing audits and SOX readiness in a public-company setting.
  • Ability to create financial narratives and provide actionable business insights.
  • Proven ability to make and defend accounting judgments and estimates.
  • Experience leading and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • CPA required.
  • Experience in high-growth tech, hardware, or consumer products companies.
  • Preferred: experience implementing or optimizing close tools such as FloQast.
  • Preferred: exposure to international accounting, including FX, intercompany, and consolidations.
  • Preferred: background in Big 4 accounting firms.
