Description

  • Design, simulate, and optimize antennas for low-power wearable devices, including multi-band solutions.
  • Build prototypes quickly to evaluate antenna design concepts.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to integrate antennas into highly constrained form factors.
  • Perform electromagnetic simulations and validate designs with bench and over-the-air measurements.
  • Conduct OTA performance testing, troubleshoot issues, and drive root cause analysis and design iterations.
  • Work with suppliers, CM partners, and manufacturing teams to maintain antenna performance through production.
  • Document design processes, test results, and performance metrics for internal sharing and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay current on emerging materials, methods, and technologies in miniature antenna design.
  • Travel to support prototype builds in Asia, Europe, and North America about 15–20% of the year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in antenna design, preferably for compact consumer electronics, wearables, or IoT devices.
  • Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, or FEKO.
  • Experience with antenna measurement tools such as vector network analyzers and OTA chambers.
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, matching networks, and PCB layout considerations for antennas.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as FCC, ETSI, or ITU.
  • Preferred: experience designing antennas for wearable or ultra-compact devices.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Bluetooth, BLE, NFC, UWB, GPS, and multi-band antenna solutions.
  • Preferred: knowledge of SAR compliance and RF regulatory requirements.
  • Preferred: experience working with overseas manufacturing partners.

  • US base salary range of $172,000–$203,000 for Region 1 and $158,950–$187,000 for Region 2.
