Description

  • Become the expert on the team’s DevOps, site reliability, and cloud infrastructure domains.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects across multiple teams.
  • Work with partners, product managers, and designers to solve challenging problems.
  • Lead and mentor engineers to improve technology and apply best practices.
  • Own large or complex technology capabilities within the team’s domain or across multiple domains.
  • Facilitate cross-team execution and collaboration, and mitigate delivery risks when projects are at risk.
  • Drive prioritization of the technical roadmap and influence product roadmap and process improvements.
  • Design and build resilient systems that reduce failure domains and minimize outage impact.
  • Build software and automation to reduce effort and business impact during maintenance and failures.
  • Guide the development of service-level objectives for systems owned by the team.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasingly impactful accomplishments.
  • Experience contributing to cross-pod or cross-company deliverables.
  • Experience leading technical contributions and improving the quality of team output.
  • Excitement for building fault-tolerant and scalable software systems.
  • Strong practical application of computer science concepts.
  • Ability to set and enforce standards for stable, correct, and maintainable code.
  • Experience mentoring and training more junior engineers.
  • Deep expertise managing production environments within AWS or GCP at scale (preferred).
  • Advanced experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools (preferred).
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes and ArgoCD workflows (preferred).
  • Strong background in SRE practices including SLOs, error budgets, and incident management (preferred).
  • Experience building deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions (preferred).
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cloud-native security, IAM, VPC peering, and service mesh technologies like Istio (preferred).
  • Ability to develop scripts and software using at least one programming language (preferred).
  • B.S. in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent high-level industry experience (preferred).
