Description

  • Lead the technical direction and architecture of the Cloud Governance Platform across cloud IAM, security controls, compliance enforcement, and software supply-chain security.
  • Define and own the roadmap and long-term vision for governance and security platforms across AWS and GCP.
  • Drive compliance through engineering by translating regulatory frameworks into automated, continuously enforced controls.
  • Own software supply-chain security initiatives, including SAST, DAST, and secure CI/CD patterns.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering to solve cross-functional risk and governance challenges.
  • Mentor engineers across teams and strengthen engineering culture through technical guidance and example.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the organization scales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience building and operating cloud platforms at scale.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and mitigations.
  • Proven track record of leading large technical initiatives with cross-team impact.
  • Experience designing and operating highly reliable, scalable distributed systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or governance systems used across many teams is preferred.
  • Background in developer tools, infrastructure, or productivity engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with software supply-chain security practices and tooling is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Golang, Python, Terraform, or similar platform-focused technologies is preferred.
  • Strong judgment in balancing developer experience, platform adoption, and enforcement of security controls is preferred.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of CAD $154,800 to $212,850.
