Description

  • Prototype thin vertical slices across React/Next.js UI, Node.js APIs, and supporting storage and search integrations.
  • Collaborate with product management and design during time-boxed discovery cycles to iterate quickly, demo often, and validate assumptions.
  • Align prototypes with shared platform standards, including feature flags, authentication flows, auditability, multitenancy assumptions, and observability.
  • Integrate workflows that involve streaming and orchestration tools such as Kafka and Temporal.
  • Partner with Data and ML engineers when prototype work requires deeper data or model integration.
  • Produce adoption materials such as documentation, interface definitions, schemas, and an integration backlog to reduce handoff friction.
  • Build work that can be packaged for a delivery team to productize confidently.
  • Maintain strong engineering hygiene through tests, CI, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building production web applications and APIs in TypeScript.
  • Experience with React/Next.js and Node.js.
  • Strong ability to turn ambiguity into a focused 1–3 week prototype scope.
  • Practical API and data-layer experience with PostgreSQL, with comfort integrating search systems when needed.
  • Comfort working in Kubernetes and GitOps environments.
  • Experience maintaining good engineering hygiene, including tests, CI, and documentation.
  • Security-conscious approach to access control, privacy/PII handling, and audit requirements.
  • Eligible to work in Germany.
  • EU or NATO citizenship preferred for export-controlled projects.
  • Real-time UI experience with WebSockets, WebRTC, collaborative editing, or CRDT/OT is preferred.
  • Complex visualization experience with graph, geospatial UX, Cytoscape, D3, Mapbox, or Cesium is preferred.
  • Some Python comfort for quick data or ML integration is preferred.
  • German language proficiency at B1+ and/or experience with regulated or mission-critical systems is preferred.
