Description

  • Define and evolve Go and Python frameworks and libraries for batch and streaming data-integration plugins.
  • Architect Catalyst’s distributed data plane, including event streaming, queuing, state machines, messaging, reconciliation, and artifact distribution.
  • Design low-latency, high-performance architectures for specialized workloads such as TAK protocols and RTSP media streams.
  • Establish reliability targets and SLOs using Datadog; lead incident response, postmortems, and on-call operations for core platform paths.
  • Manage critical component lifecycles, dependencies, vulnerability detection, and safe upgrades using automated tooling.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for automated testing, deployment, and quality assurance.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code and automate secure provisioning of the management plane and enrollment of edge nodes.
  • Containerize and operate services with Docker and advance Kubernetes deployment, scaling, networking, and upgrade practices.
  • Review pull requests, establish engineering standards and documentation, and lead design discussions and sprint planning.
  • Travel up to 25% annually to the Middle East for customer engagement, architecture reviews, and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of production distributed-systems experience, including ownership of platform or infrastructure areas.
  • Deep hands-on Go experience in high-throughput concurrent systems, including goroutines, backpressure, context cancellation, and graceful shutdown.
  • Experience with messaging and streaming systems such as NATS/JetStream or Kafka, including delivery semantics, retention, and eviction strategies.
  • Experience designing state machines, idempotent operations, deterministic recovery, reconciliation loops, and rollback-safe writes.
  • Experience with gRPC/protobuf service boundaries, schema versioning, and bidirectional session management.
  • Knowledge of distributed-systems failure semantics, including supervised restarts, backoff, and durable-versus-running state consistency.
  • Ability to communicate technical trade-offs and align customers, product leaders, and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience setting technical direction for a subsystem or platform area.
  • Ability to travel internationally to the Middle East and geopolitical hot zones up to 25% per calendar year.
  • Experience with regulated, high-reliability, national security, intelligence, or defense environments; active Secret+ clearance preferred.
