Description

  • Act as the first point of contact with regulators to manage the impact of new regulations, reporting obligations, and prudential guidelines.
  • Drive horizon scanning and early warning activities to identify upcoming regulatory changes and share them with impacted teams.
  • Support the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance and Regulatory Compliance Managers on regional compliance strategy and activities.
  • Monitor company compliance with applicable laws, regulations, reporting obligations, and prudential guidelines across the regional portfolio.
  • Conduct structured assessments of regulatory compliance requirements to evaluate regulatory risk exposure, significance, and scope.
  • Support implementation of a regulatory compliance governance framework, including employee training and awareness activities.
  • Develop marketing materials, training programs, and internal presentations aligned with regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Gather internal information and prepare responses to regulatory compliance queries and reporting obligations from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support partner, financial institution, and third-party queries related to legal and contractual compliance obligations, including due diligence and supplier onboarding.
  • Partner with local commercial teams to facilitate go-to-market activities and respond to customer regulatory queries.
  • Work with Internal Audit and other assurance providers to support combined assurance activities in the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a fintech environment, preferably in the microfinance industry.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory and oversight bodies, governance, and operating principles in WAEMU/BCEAO markets, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.
  • Knowledge of project management methods and practices, including creating designs, plans, specifications, estimates, reports, tests, and recommendations.
  • Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and systems, evaluate alternatives, draw conclusions, and recommend actions.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
  • Passion and commitment to financial inclusion.
