Description

  • Maintain and execute the Canadian compliance program under applicable CSA instruments, Restricted Dealer and Marketplace registrations, and exemptive relief.
  • Support Crypto.com Canada’s CIRO membership by reviewing and updating related policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess impacts on products, services, processes, and customer onboarding.
  • Provide compliance guidance on product launches, digital asset offerings, custody, onboarding, marketing, and operational workflows.
  • Draft and maintain compliance policies, procedures, monitoring plans, registers, and program documentation.
  • Design and deliver compliance training for employees and business stakeholders.
  • Review and escalate compliance incidents, complaints, material issues, and regulatory concerns.
  • Manage registration activities and coordinate required filings and records for the firm and individual representatives.
  • Assist with regulatory examinations, meetings, audits, and information requests from the OSC, CIRO, FINTRAC, and other regulators.
  • Conduct monitoring, testing, issue tracking, reporting, and governance activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant compliance, legal, regulatory, risk, or securities experience, including Canadian securities requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of CSA National Instruments applicable to crypto platforms, securities dealers, marketplaces, digital assets, custody, and client onboarding.
  • Knowledge of CIRO requirements, or the ability to develop that knowledge quickly; CIRO framework experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting compliance programs at a securities dealer, marketplace, fintech, crypto platform, financial institution, or similarly regulated business.
  • Canadian residency and ability to work with Canadian regulatory stakeholders.
  • Approved Person registration under applicable CSA/CIRO requirements, or willingness and ability to obtain it.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex regulations to non-specialists.
  • Ability to build relationships, challenge constructively, and influence cross-functional decisions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Experience with digital assets, securities, custody, financial crime compliance, regulated onboarding, regulatory exams, audits, AML/CTF, sanctions, privacy, or market integrity obligations is preferred.
