Description

  • Act as the first point of contact with relevant regulators to manage the impact of new regulations, reporting obligations, and prudential guidelines.
  • Drive or support horizon scanning and early-warning activities for upcoming regulatory changes and communicate impacts to affected teams.
  • Support the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance and Regulatory Compliance Managers on regional regulatory strategy and related activities.
  • Monitor company compliance with applicable laws, regulations, reporting obligations, and prudential guidelines across the regional portfolio.
  • Perform structured assessments of regulatory compliance requirements to evaluate regulatory risk exposure, significance, and scope.
  • Support implementation of a regulatory compliance governance framework, including employee training and awareness initiatives.
  • Develop marketing materials, training programs, and internal presentations aligned with regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Gather internal information and prepare responses to regulatory compliance queries and reporting obligations from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support timely responses to partner, financial institution, and third-party queries related to legal, contractual, and due diligence requirements.
  • Partner with local commercial teams to facilitate go-to-market activities and respond to customer queries on new or existing regulatory requirements.
  • Work with internal assurance providers, including Internal Audit, to support combined assurance activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in a fintech environment, preferably in the microfinance industry.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory and oversight bodies, governance, and operating principles in the CEMAC region, including Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo.
  • Knowledge of project management methods and practices, including creating designs, plans, specifications, estimates, reports, tests, and recommendations.
  • Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and systems, evaluate alternatives, develop sound conclusions, and recommend actions.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative without direct supervision within established procedures and policies.
  • Passion and commitment to financial inclusion.
