Description

  • Own the design system end to end, including visual language, interaction patterns, accessibility guardrails, and product consistency.
  • Maintain and extend the Storybook component library so components are correct, documented, performant, accessible, and easy to compose.
  • Build and maintain prototyping tooling, including design tokens, AI-prompt scaffolds, design markdowns, and starter kits.
  • Consult with Product Engineers on novel UX interactions and turn new patterns into reusable system guidance or components.
  • Partner with engineering to keep the design system and implementation library aligned.
  • Review prototypes against the system, flag drift, and uphold the quality bar across the team.
  • Track developments in Figma plugins, AI design tooling, headless component libraries, and accessibility standards.
  • Propose investments that improve team speed and the usefulness of the design system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years combined experience across product design and front-end engineering.
  • Experience owning or substantially contributing to a production design system and a Storybook or equivalent component library.
  • Strong front-end skills in React, TypeScript, modern CSS, design tokens, and accessibility best practices.
  • Comfort with AI-enabled design and prototyping workflows.
  • Strong taste with the discipline to systematize design into reusable patterns and components.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and influencing without authority.
  • Self-directed, outcome-oriented, and able to prioritize high-leverage investments without close supervision.
  • B2B SaaS or enterprise software experience is a strong plus.
