Description

  • Design, build, and evolve Hunt experiences across mobile applications, APIs, backend services, and data systems.
  • Own technical solutions from design through delivery, including architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Build, support, diagnose, and continuously improve large-scale distributed systems.
  • Partner with Product, Design, QA, and engineering teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code using unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Review code, share technical knowledge, and mentor other engineers.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI experimentation into daily engineering workflows with appropriate validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years focused on API development.
  • Experience building and debugging distributed, scalable microservices architectures.
  • Strong foundation in computer science and modern API and systems design.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Go, Elixir, or another functional programming language.
  • Experience with iOS or Android development.
  • Permanent US work authorization and ability to travel occasionally for multiple days.
  • Strong ownership, mentoring, customer advocacy, and interest in emerging technologies including AI.
  • Preferred: GraphQL, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Google Cloud Platform, PostGIS, CockroachDB, event-based workflows, or distributed-team experience.

Benefits

  • Salary of $130,000–$153,000, plus annual 10% performance bonus and common share options.
