Description

  • Architect and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible to build robust, scalable, and self-healing infrastructure.
  • Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions for new initiatives and existing systems, ensuring industry best practices and driving innovation.
  • Architect, maintain, and continuously improve microservices running on Kubernetes in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), focusing on scalability, resilience, and observability.
  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives across infrastructure by implementing monitoring and analysis tools and executing efficiency improvements.
  • Design and implement advanced monitoring and alerting systems and lead the out-of-hours support strategy to maximise uptime, security, and system integrity.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and QA teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions and provide technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Champion DevOps best practices and cultural transformation, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across teams in an Agile environment.
  • Conduct regular architecture reviews and lead initiatives to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that benefit the organisation.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives across the software development lifecycle, including large-scale automation of processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products, services, implementation, right-sizing, and methodology.
  • High level of Linux expertise and experience with configuration management and automation using Ansible.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and practices, including GitHub.
  • Strong knowledge of Nginx, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL solutions and technologies such as RabbitMQ, Solr, and Couchbase.
  • Transformational experience supporting migration from monolithic architecture to services, with a commercial/cost-awareness mindset.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, HTTPS, DNS) and ability to provide architectural design support to reduce operational costs.
  • Experience with information security risk assessment and analysis of cloud-native services, including analysing potential attack vectors and impact of security threats.
  • Experience using New Relic for log investigation and root-cause diagnosis, and awareness of relevant industry regulations (e.g., GDPR).
