Description

  • Design and develop the Control Server, API, and CLI that manage the lifecycle of thousands of environments.
  • Build logic for automated rollbacks, hotfixes, and release patching to keep deployments safe, predictable, and reversible.
  • Develop and maintain automated provisioners for spinning up high-fidelity test environments without manual intervention.
  • Implement event publishing for platform entities so environment-state changes are reliably broadcast to downstream systems.
  • Own the platform interface by ensuring the CLI and API are intuitive, well-documented, and provide clear feedback during complex operations.
  • Collaborate with Product, Platform, Security, and Quality Engineering teams to turn business requirements into automated lifecycle workflows.
  • Establish technical standards for API and CLI design, with security policies and quality gates integrated into deployment and release processes.
  • Participate in production incident support through the team's goalie rotation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience building APIs, CLI tools, or backend orchestration logic.
  • Proficiency in Golang, the core language for control plane services.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems patterns, including idempotency, state machines, and eventual consistency.
  • Demonstrable experience managing AWS or Azure cloud resources via code for automated provisioning.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) or OIDC/OAuth2 flows.
  • Strong focus on developer experience and clear, effective tooling.
  • Tier-1 service mindset with the ability to handle edge cases, network partitions, and partial failures gracefully.
  • Ability to deliver work incrementally and iterate based on feedback.
  • Relentless ownership and accountability for highly reliable and performant systems.
  • Preferred: significant experience with PostgreSQL for managing complex relational entity state.
  • Preferred: experience building custom Kubernetes controllers or extending Terraform providers.
  • Preferred: familiarity with gRPC for high-performance internal service communication.
