Description

  • Design, implement, troubleshoot, scale, and monitor process control systems for the fuel recycling facility.
  • Develop systems that meet facility and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and document the overall control philosophy, including key control variables, setpoints, and rationale.
  • Prepare and review control system documentation such as instrument loop drawings, logic drawings, cause-and-effect matrices, and interlock schemes.
  • Define and manage control and alarm strategies to support operator awareness and system safety.
  • Design and specify control system architecture, including hardware, software, and network requirements for DCS, PLC, and HMI applications.
  • Generate technical documentation for inclusion in regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams focused on facility design, unit process equipment design, and licensing.
  • Support process control needs for subsystems such as off-gas separation and waste immobilization.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in process controls engineering or a similar field.
  • Experience or education in instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or process engineering.
  • Experience with nuclear fuel cycle and/or high-temperature or corrosive facilities and operations preferred.
  • Experience with control narratives and philosophies, piping and instrumentation diagrams, interlock lists, instrument specifications, and instrument set points preferred.
  • Experience designing, managing, commissioning, and operating DCS, PLC, alarm, safety, and HMI systems preferred.
  • Experience leading or serving as a subject matter expert in process hazard analysis studies preferred.
  • Experience deploying or working on first-of-a-kind or pilot plants preferred.
  • Commercial or governmental nuclear industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate technical content verbally and write clearly in an active voice.
