Description

  • Design and execute industrial hygiene sampling plans for airborne contaminants, radiation adjunct hazards, noise, heat stress, and other exposures.
  • Conduct routine and incident-driven exposure assessments across construction, commissioning, and operational environments.
  • Interpret exposure results and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and NRC-related worker safety requirements.
  • Support development and maintenance of written IH and safety programs, including chemical hygiene, respiratory protection, and PPE programs.
  • Prepare for and support audits, inspections, and other regulatory interactions.
  • Partner with EHS, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify hazards and implement controls using the hierarchy of controls.
  • Evaluate new processes, materials, and equipment for potential health risks.
  • Support Job Hazard Analyses and pre-job planning for high-risk activities.
  • Maintain an on-site presence to support construction and operational teams and provide real-time field guidance.
  • Help build and standardize IH programs across multiple sites as the company grows.
  • Implement systems for exposure tracking, record-keeping, and reporting.
  • Deliver training on industrial hygiene topics and translate technical findings into clear guidance for non-technical audiences.
  • Support investigations of exposure incidents or near misses, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of industrial hygiene experience in high-hazard environments such as nuclear, energy, construction, manufacturing, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial hygiene best practices.
  • Familiarity with NRC/DOE environments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting active job sites in construction, commissioning, or operations.
  • Professional certification (CIH) is strongly preferred or in progress.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with limited guidance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical findings clearly.
  • Detail-oriented approach with strong attention to quality and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel to Oklo headquarters in Santa Clara, CA, twice per quarter, with the first two weeks of onboarding conducted onsite.
