Description

  • Develop and maintain core infrastructure for Arbitrum, including the Nitro Testnode development tool.
  • Solve distributed-systems challenges involving performance, security, scalability, databases, and microservices.
  • Design high-performance compiler pipelines and extensible SDK frameworks.
  • Collaborate with research, product, blockchain engineering, and security teams.
  • Provide technical support and engineering guidance to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Review code for quality, architectural consistency, and engineering best practices.
  • Establish backend architecture standards, technology selections, and development practices.
  • Identify and resolve security issues and potential vulnerabilities in distributed systems.
  • Drive technical roadmaps, data modeling, API-first strategies, and long-term system interoperability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience designing, developing, and securing blockchain-based backend systems.
  • 3 years of backend development experience using languages including Go or Rust.
  • 3 years of experience working with protocols spanning L1 and L2 systems.
  • 3 years of experience collaborating with blockchain research teams.
  • 3 years of experience building distributed systems, including reliable broadcast protocols, distributed data structures, and high-performance database storage engines.
  • 3 years of experience working with blockchain protocols and security-focused distributed systems development.
  • 1 year of production experience with WebAssembly, including high-performance and high-security code.
  • 1 year of experience with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies, including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • U.S. remote work eligibility; the role cannot be performed from California or Colorado.
