Description

  • Architect, design, and maintain scalable geospatial and big data data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Lead ETL development for ingesting, cleaning, transforming, and storing large volumes of geospatial and tabular data.
  • Design and build API-driven service-to-service web services to support integration across products.
  • Collaborate with backend and platform engineers to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable communications between services.
  • Translate complex analytics and business questions into production-grade data solutions.
  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, business stakeholders, and leadership to deliver high-impact data products.
  • Drive adoption and optimization of cloud-based data solutions across GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing data infrastructure and software systems.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development, data engineering, or big data roles, preferably with geospatial data.
  • Experience building solutions with Python.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, including advanced querying, data extraction, and manipulation.
  • Experience architecting and optimizing cloud-based data solutions, preferably on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Deep experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, or Kafka.
  • Experience integrating with API-driven, service-to-service web services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and drive technical decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving, resourcefulness, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Preferred: expertise with geospatial libraries and tools such as GDAL, PDAL, PostGIS, GeoPandas, or Shapely.
  • Preferred: experience deploying and scaling machine learning models in production.
  • Preferred: strong experience with geospatial analytics and data formats such as LAS, LAZ, COPC, GeoTIFF, or Shapefiles.
  • Preferred: experience leading teams integrating and scaling complex ML/DL algorithms.
  • Preferred: experience working with LiDAR data and deriving insights from point clouds.
  • Preferred: experience with ESRI products or other GIS platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with data streaming, real-time data processing, or cloud-native geospatial solutions.
  • Preferred: cloud certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or AWS Certified Data Analytics.
  • Preferred: experience with OAuth, authentication, and API key management for secure service-to-service communication.
