Description

  • Exceed assigned quarterly and annual revenue and profit goals.
  • Establish and expand relationships, customers, and opportunities within assigned verticals and new markets.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities and contract bids, maintaining weekly pipeline reports.
  • Develop customer requirements for future bids and prepare price quotations, credit/contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
  • Lead development of compelling and compliant proposals in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Build and nurture relationships with government program and technical personnel and key military stakeholders at headquarters and programmatic levels.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and military engagements to gather market intelligence and promote the brand.
  • Actively develop and communicate competitive and customer market intelligence, opportunities, and threats to leadership.
  • Execute a comprehensive business development and marketing strategy, including inside/outside team approaches, territory/customer strategy, and channel/vendor relations.
  • Perform sales administration: process quotes and orders, prepare reports (weekly sales, pipeline, expense), keep sales records, and maintain professional calendar and communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related technical field required; Master's degree highly desirable.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in defense sales and business development with a proven track record of winning DoD contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience with DoD procurement and federal contracting processes, and familiarity with contracting vehicles such as GSA, ECAT, EMALL, and Prime Vendor schedules.
  • Previous military experience, particularly in a CBRN-related field, is highly desired.
  • Established understanding of government sales and federal contracting and ability to obtain security clearance if required.
  • Proven ability to work with and influence senior business and government leaders and to negotiate skillfully.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to meet deadlines while managing customer needs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, trade shows, symposiums, and conferences; must be able to perform light lifting (up to 25 lbs) when required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Familiarity with and ability to use Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs), Oracle ERP (Noble), Epicor, Salesforce, Slack, Concur, and ADP.
