Description

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for Nitrogen's planning products, including Tax, Income, Legacy, and Insurance.
  • Drive the full product lifecycle from conceptualization and prioritization through execution, go-to-market collaboration, and post-launch iteration.
  • Translate complex planning concepts into simple, intuitive product experiences for advisors and end clients.
  • Represent Nitrogen externally as a domain authority in customer conversations, conferences, podcasts, written content, and media interviews.
  • Build and maintain a continuous feedback loop with customers, prospects, and industry experts to shape product direction.
  • Manage and develop Product Owners by setting expectations, ensuring execution quality, and growing them as product professionals.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Design, and GTM teams to ship on a predictable cadence and launch successfully in market.
  • Make rigorous, evidence-based prioritization decisions and communicate tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders, including when declining requests.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the regulatory, tax-code, and insurance-industry landscape and anticipate changes that affect the roadmap.
  • Define and track success metrics for each product area and use them to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Deep domain expertise in insurance and tax planning at an expert level, with fluency in the regulatory, tax-code, and insurance-industry landscape.
  • CFP certification is strongly preferred.
  • Meaningful experience running a financial planning practice or working in a WealthTech company.
  • Working knowledge of income and legacy planning concepts, including estate planning, retirement income strategies, and wealth transfer considerations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for external-facing conversations with advisors, clients, and partners.
  • Proven ability to translate complex planning concepts into simple, intuitive product experiences.
  • Strong customer and market insight skills, including the ability to build and use feedback loops with customers, prospects, and industry experts.
  • Demonstrated product strategy and prioritization experience owning roadmaps end-to-end and making evidence-based tradeoffs.
  • Strong execution and delivery track record across the full product lifecycle, including go-to-market and post-launch iteration.
  • Experience managing and developing Product Owners or similar team members, with a high bar for quality and people development.
