Description

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including research, design, development, integration, deployment, and testing.
  • Support development and integration activities for synthetic data used in simulation applications.
  • Work as part of a distributed team in an agile, fast-paced environment.
  • Design, implement, test, and integrate software systems and components.
  • Develop software using object-oriented design and full lifecycle engineering practices.
  • Build and maintain software in a DevSecOps environment with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with containerization technologies to support deployment and integration.
  • Contribute to performance testing, scalability improvements, and system tuning.
  • Collaborate on geospatial data curation and handling of raster formats.
  • Communicate technical information clearly through writing and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of formal work-related software engineering experience.
  • Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience with C++ and Python software development.
  • Experience with software architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration.
  • Experience with object-oriented software design and development.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development methodologies and tools such as JUnit and Pytest.
  • Experience operating in a DevSecOps environment with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred experience working in Agile environments with Scrum and JIRA.
  • Preferred experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Preferred experience manipulating large data sets with NumPy, Pandas, Rasterio, and SciPy.
  • Preferred experience with geospatial data and raster formats such as GRIB, NetCDF, and GeoTIFF.
  • Preferred experience with performance testing, scalability mechanisms, and system tuning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
  • Preferred experience working with weather-related systems and data.
