Description

  • Design and improve RAG pipelines that ground Lena’s diagnostic reasoning in telemetry, device state, and product documentation.
  • Build evaluation harnesses that measure groundedness, hallucination, refusal calibration, and action accuracy on every release.
  • Define the boundary between probabilistic AI suggestions and the platform’s deterministic action layer, including what actions are allowed and under what audit conditions.
  • Own AI cost and latency budgets for each workflow.
  • Partner with backend (.NET) and platform engineers to land changes safely in production.
  • Help ensure the reasoning layer performs reliably, observably, and auditably in customer environments.
  • Contribute to production AI behavior that supports enterprise endpoints and governed actions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of machine learning engineering experience, or 5+ years combined experience across ML and applied AI systems.
  • 2+ years building and shipping LLM-powered systems in a growth-phase AI SaaS company where AI was the product.
  • Hands-on experience with RAG systems, including vector databases, embedding tuning, and retrieval optimization.
  • Experience building production evaluation pipelines for LLM performance, hallucination, and reliability.
  • Strong Python skills with production-level ML system implementation experience.
  • Track record operating under real product constraints such as latency, cost, observability, and safety.
  • Comfort being accountable for AI behavior in production.
  • Strong signal if you have designed agentic workflows with measurable performance improvements.
  • Strong signal if you have worked at AI-native startups that scaled from early traction to growth stage.
  • Strong signal if you have reduced hallucination and improved grounding in production systems.
  • Strong signal if you have done cost optimization at scale, including token modeling and caching strategies.
  • Strong signal if you are familiar with compliance-aware AI logging and enterprise audit requirements.
  • Strong signal if you defined evaluation pipelines before feature release rather than after.
  • Not a fit if your LLM experience is limited to experimentation, side projects, or non-production systems.
  • Not a fit if you are a backend engineer looking to pivot into AI.
  • Not a fit if your background is research-focused without production ownership.
