Description

  • Translate, write, research, edit, storyboard, and create student- and teacher-facing Edwin content.
  • Adapt content for new development, licensing, repackaging, and evolving market requirements.
  • Use agile workflows to develop app-ready digital learning materials.
  • Coordinate tasks and review work from Nelson staff and freelancers to meet deadlines.
  • Use customer feedback and usage data to prioritize content revisions and additions.
  • Manage editorial calendars, authoring templates, guidelines, and inclusive content-development practices.
  • Create text, audio, video, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with educators, curriculum specialists, designers, authors, and other stakeholders to conceptualize engaging learning experiences.
  • Develop content plans, outlines, and release schedules, overseeing assigned materials through publication.
  • Provide marketing with benefit statements for featured learning experiences when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, French, Linguistics, Translation, or a related field, or equivalent K–12 professional experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge of K–12 pedagogy, curriculum, and instructional design, including French Immersion and Core French programs.
  • High proficiency in French and English, with accurate and age-appropriate educational translation skills.
  • Experience with educational translation and localization, including cultural adaptation.
  • Knowledge of second-language acquisition and French Immersion instructional practices.
  • Experience developing, adapting, and reviewing Canadian curriculum-aligned French Immersion resources.
  • Strong written communication, attention to detail, editorial judgment, problem-solving, and idea development skills.
  • Experience creating inclusive, accessible, culturally responsive materials that support Universal Design for Learning.
  • Significant EdTech experience authoring, editing, or creating web, app, video, interactive, or game content.
  • Experience with provincial or territorial curriculum frameworks is preferred; HTML skills are a bonus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adapting to evolving software, AI, and technology requirements.
