Description

  • Perform venipunctures and collect blood specimens safely and accurately.
  • Verify patient identities and test requisitions against EMR records, resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain specimen integrity through aseptic techniques, protocols, and proper documentation.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate blood-draw timing with clinic requirements.
  • Coordinate patient care and collaborate with Field Sales and internal operations teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for accounts and Sales, documenting communications and follow-ups.
  • Respond to inquiries, resolve escalated issues, and communicate delays, cancellations, and redraw needs.
  • Maintain quality-control logs and comply with CAP/CLIA standards, healthcare regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Identify process-improvement opportunities to increase operational efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Oncology experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; BS/BA degree preferred.
  • State-required phlebotomy certification.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with patients and internal teams.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Successful completion of required screenings, including background, drug and alcohol, licensure, immunization, TB, physical, and competency verification as applicable.
  • Completion of clinic-specific compliance, safety, infection-prevention, and onboarding training.
