Description

  • Design, develop, and optimize Apache Flink applications for real-time BMS data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment.
  • Build and maintain Amazon Kinesis Data Streams infrastructure, including shard management, auto-scaling, and dead-letter queues.
  • Own the full lifecycle of stream-processing applications, from design and development through deployment and production operations.
  • Implement end-to-end observability with CloudWatch and Grafana dashboards, distributed tracing, structured logging, and tiered alerting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across Kinesis, Flink, DynamoDB, S3, and Athena.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using CDK or CloudFormation for repeatable, auditable deployments.
  • Implement data-quality monitoring for record counts, schema drift, and null-rate anomalies across sites.
  • Build fault-tolerant pipeline architecture to support 99% system uptime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
  • Production-level proficiency in Java, including building and deploying applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Flink or equivalent stream-processing frameworks such as Spark Streaming or Kafka Streams.
  • Experience with Amazon Kinesis Data Streams or a similar distributed messaging or streaming platform.
  • Experience building and operating systems with 99%+ uptime SLAs.
  • Understanding of distributed-systems concepts including fault tolerance, exactly-once semantics, checkpointing, and backpressure management.
  • Experience with AWS services including DynamoDB, S3, Athena, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
  • Ability to work in an on-call environment and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with BMS or IoT data pipelines, MQTT, Haystack, Niagara N4, schema management tools, observability tools, chaos engineering, or Python scripting is preferred.
