Description

  • Build and maintain reliable, accurate Banking-as-a-Service REST APIs and event-driven services.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of core banking capabilities, including customer onboarding, KYC workflows, deposit accounts, reporting, and statement generation.
  • Drive technical solution design and architectural decisions within the domain.
  • Write technical designs, participate in threat-modeling workshops, and coordinate upstream and downstream dependencies across teams.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD, build, testing, and release processes.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, investigate incidents, identify root causes, and deliver production hotfixes.
  • Manage integration issues and follow-up with external partners and connected services.
  • Contribute to long-term technical decisions and continuous engineering improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience, including 2+ years with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience working on critical, high-value production systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS serverless services, including Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Practical understanding of software design patterns.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform and CDK.
  • Experience with TypeScript unit, integration, and system testing practices.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, such as Kafka.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and OpenAPI specifications.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and production problem-solving skills; fluent English.
  • Experience with monorepos, MySQL and Prisma, NoSQL databases, or German language skills is preferred.
