Description

  • Own the architectural integrity, scalability, and long-term health of critical systems.
  • Take ownership of complex, unscoped problems and design scalable technical solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Identify technical debt, architectural bottlenecks, and emerging technology opportunities before they become critical issues.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design documents, and hands-on pairing.
  • Raise engineering standards across the organization through technical guidance and collaboration.
  • Break down large initiatives into actionable work and coordinate delivery across engineers and teams.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Leadership to align technical investments with business objectives.
  • Translate complex technical trade-offs into clear terms for stakeholders.
  • Improve observability, CI/CD, and automated testing to strengthen developer experience and system reliability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with leadership of technical strategy at a senior or staff level.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems, such as microservices, event-driven architectures, or high-ingestion data pipelines.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in at least one major backend ecosystem: Go, Node.js, Python, or Java.
  • Strong experience architecting and operating production systems on AWS or GCP.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to serve as an effective bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • History of turning highly ambiguous problems into actionable technical execution plans.
