Description

  • Design and maintain scalable CI/CD systems, self-service workflows, and platform capabilities that support the engineering organization.
  • Lead and develop a team of 2–4 Platform Engineers through 1:1s, mentoring, goal-setting, and performance management.
  • Own technical architecture decisions for platform systems, balancing developer experience, reliability, and operational simplicity.
  • Partner with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to drive platform adoption and integrate security, reliability, and compliance into workflows.
  • Drive hiring by refining candidate profiles, creating interview rubrics, and ensuring assessments validate real-world platform engineering skills.
  • Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement, empowering engineers to propose and implement solutions.
  • Ensure operational health of platform systems via incident response practices, SLAs, monitoring, and systematic technical debt reduction.
  • Champion standardization by establishing golden paths for infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and observability, and automate repetitive work to reduce manual effort.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
  • 2+ years of experience as a tech lead, team lead, engineering manager, or equivalent experience leading complex platform initiatives and mentoring engineers.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI, including pipeline design, performance optimization, and secrets management.
  • Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in production environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Helm, and a solid grasp of cloud infrastructure concepts.
  • Proficiency in at least one tooling/backend language (Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  • Preferred: experience building and operating self-hosted CI/CD runner infrastructure, driving platform adoption across large organizations, security automation/compliance tooling background, and experience with observability platforms and debugging distributed systems.
