Description

  • Proactively identify and interpret regulatory rules, guidance, and requirements affecting regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure capital, liquidity, and financial returns accurately reflect current regulatory interpretations and ongoing compliance obligations.
  • Develop, implement, document, and maintain the processes and controls needed for regulatory reporting.
  • Work with engineers and data scientists to source the correct data for reporting with efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Treasury, Risk, Data, and project teams to resolve complex or ambiguous regulatory issues.
  • Review regulatory returns to ensure compliance with applicable UK and European prudential regulations.
  • Build and maintain governance and control frameworks expected by regulators.
  • Support automation of regulatory reporting, including implementation, user acceptance testing, and maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement process changes quickly and safely.
  • Support Monzo’s expansion plans by enabling the wider business through regulatory reporting.

Requirements

  • Experience understanding and operationalising a wide range of regulatory requirements and associated reporting.
  • Experience with large-scale implementation and testing of automated reporting solutions.
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, propose solutions, and implement changes quickly and safely.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage people.
  • Proven team leadership and coaching skills, with empathy and guidance.
  • Strong interest in using technology to automate reporting and capital management, with a track record of continuous process improvement.
  • Great attention to detail and strong numerical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on approach with a willingness to support colleagues and tasks of any size.
  • Experience with capital, liquidity, or financial regulatory returns (implied by the role).
  • Monzo enthusiasm or alignment with the company mission.
