Description

  • Tackle complex and ambiguous design problems and turn them into elegant, scalable solutions.
  • Define and deliver large-scale projects that connect initiatives across the business.
  • Lead the creation of product visions, principles, and design direction for shared team alignment.
  • Use AI to improve parts of the design workflow, from ideation and analysis to prototyping and production code.
  • Raise the quality of visual execution, including motion, interaction, and mental model clarity.
  • Influence the design system, tooling, and internal processes to improve design at scale.
  • Drive business impact by aligning design work with wider company goals and collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Act as a role model in Design by sharing work, mentoring others, and contributing to team growth.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of delivering impactful, customer-centric native app designs that solve complex problems and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Experience leading research, defining product visions, and aligning teams around a shared strategy.
  • Ability to create modular, scalable solutions and communicate insights clearly through design artefacts.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience navigating multi-squad projects and aligning leadership in ambiguous situations.
  • Passion for improving design systems, processes, and ways of working to help teams deliver better outcomes at scale.
  • Experience contributing to team growth through hiring, mentoring, and fostering a positive culture.
  • Excitement about Monzo’s mission to make money work for everyone and make a significant impact on customers and the business.
  • Ability to work in London, distributed within the UK, or remotely with ad hoc London meetings.
  • Willingness to participate in a standard hiring process including a case study presentation and interviews.
